Recent statistics say very few people taking UK Tourism courses actually get work in the industry.
Why?
Because employers say courses don’t teach what their staff need to know.
So what can you do?
* To increase your chances of working in a fascinating, interesting,
sometimes frustrating but never boring industry?
* Provide skills that employers want?
* And find those elusive jobs in an industry that is largely made up of SMEs
(small, medium enterprises) with no need to advertise, because they
usually hire ‘a friend of a friend’?
Employers complain bitterly that college leavers DON'T have the basic knowledge and skills they need. Why? Because the Government has 'mucked up' courses so much that they are no longer taught by people who have worked in the industry, and therefore text books don't teach how the industry works.
I HAVE worked in the industry. I don't follow Government guidelines, but write what I know is needed. And readers contact me from across the world to say "thanks to you, I got the inside knowledge that landed me the job" (Sonya - Norway).
These books are written as if it were happening. They take you step by step into what you need to know. However, people already working in the industry may find some titbits and new information that helps them in their next career move.
All the books are available from Amazon.
